Accumulated stress can manifest physically in the body, leading to various health issues. It’s crucial to understand how to mitigate these effects.
The autonomic nervous system, comprising the parasympathetic (passive) and sympathetic (excited) branches, governs bodily functions. The parasympathetic system promotes relaxation, healing, and rest, while the sympathetic system triggers the fight-or-flight response. Chronic stress keeps the sympathetic system activated, leading to tension, pain, and other ailments.

Stress accumulates within the nervous system as electrical energy. Similar to how excessive current can overload and damage electrical wires, prolonged stress can overload the nervous system, causing energy to condense and create blockages. These blockages manifest as muscle knots, pain, and impaired circulation.
While there are numerous ways to avoid stress, there are primarily two physical methods to remove accumulated stress and restore proper nervous system function. These methods focus on discharging the built-up electrical energy and promoting healthy circulation.

One effective method is using infrared heat. Infrared heat, such as that found in hot springs or emitted by amethyst mats, helps to break up the energy blockages and improve circulation. Hot springs have long been recognized for their therapeutic benefits, aiding in cancer treatment, blood pressure reduction, improved sleep, enhanced circulation, and arthritis relief. Amethyst mats offer a convenient alternative for those without access to hot springs.
Another powerful method is grounding, or earthing. Connecting directly to the earth by walking barefoot on grass, soil, or sand allows the body to discharge excess electrical energy. Modern rubber-soled shoes prevent this natural discharge, trapping the accumulated stress. Grounding has been shown to improve circulation dramatically, offering relief from arthritis, cancer, and various pain conditions.
